December 2002: 2000 Donedei Merlot Only 140 cases of the 2000 Donedei were produced, surely not enough to supply the demand. It is a blend dominated by Red Mountain fruit that was aged in French and American oak barrels for 21 months. Small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc were added to give this wine its power and depth. Columbia Valley (Limited) $36.00, $29.88VS
January 2003: 2000 Donedei Cabernet Sauvignon Carolyn Lakewold has hit another home run with her new 2000 Donedei Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a powerful wine but with soft edges. The Red Mountain fruit adds structure and tannin but rich glycerin gives the wine texture. She is destined to be one of the state’s stars. Columbia Valley (Limited) $38.50, $31.96VS

November 2001: 1999 Donedei Merlot Carolyn Lakewold has made an astonishing first wine from Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc that resembles a fine Pomerol in taste and texture. The production of the 1999 Donedei Merlot is tiny – only 99 cases produced – thus only a few bottles per customer can be allowed. Columbia Valley (limited) $35.00, $29.05VS
